In Tarpon Springs or St. PetersBurg ,Florida. Somwhere there Is a classics car museum. They had John Dilllingers car. Awesome classics. Their cars only came from the south where no salt was used. Asked the if they wanted to buy a car from Micihgan and they laughed at me. Because of the practice of salting icy roads in the winter. He said Elveis Presely had bought one from him, forgot what. kind. His cars went for $25,000 15 years ago.More Rare ,More money. No idea if it is still in business. i rember !955 ThunderBird, 1954 Corvet when they came out. They were instant classics. A 1957 Chevrolet Belair HardTop was an Instant classic When It’s Rubber hit the Road. Even The Ford Guys Liked It. A 1957 Ford Made A Good Boat Anchor For the Queen Mary 1. A Car has to be special. Like the Electric cars this fellowv is Buildig in california now Are classics before they come out. A bunch of people with Bucks have thier orders in. When a lot of persons like a certain item ,styling ,etc it is certain to be a Classic.

“Jon” knows not of what he speaks. His comment about a 1957 Ford is evidence. The term “classic” is over-used and therefore hard to determine. For the most part a car becomes a classic after 25 years but all 25 year old cars are “classics”. By that I mean not all are “desirable and collectible” cars. It becomes subjective which older vehicles are popular and increase in value. What makes an AMC Rambler worth less than a Chevrolet of the same year? Supply and demand also is a factor. Movies and books also play a role to a lesser extent. Collectible cars are available for sale through a number of outlets. There are dealers that specialize in them. Auction houses like Barrett-Jackson and places like eBay also handle a large number each year. Publications such as Hemmings Motor News and Auto Trader list vehicles and parts for collectors.
